As it appears in Women’s Health, November 2026.

For many women, ADHD can go unrecognised for years. Difficulties with focus, organisation, overwhelm and emotional regulation may be hidden behind working twice as hard to keep everything together. Women may become more aware of these challenges during periods of increased demand or hormonal change, including university, careers, motherhood, perimenopause and menopause. Some women have previously been diagnosed with anxiety, depression or other mental health difficulties, yet find that treatment and familiar strategies have never fully explained or addressed their challenges. Sometimes, previously unrecognised ADHD may be an important part of the picture.

At Dr Cassie’s Adult Clinic, our doctor-led ADHD service takes a holistic approach, considering your physical and mental health alongside your developmental history, with time to explore your current challenges and their impact on work, relationships and everyday life. Where ADHD is diagnosed, we offer ongoing support and can discuss treatment and support options, including ADHD medication where appropriate. Our approach is individual, supportive and clinically led, focused not simply on a diagnosis, but on helping you understand yourself and what may help you thrive.
